This course is for those who have already seen the Fairlight Fundamentals course and want to learn more about audio mixing and advanced audio editing features.

You'll learn everything you need to know to edit, mix, and deliver your video to meet the technical specifications for digital broadcasters and TV. All within DaVinci Resolve Fairlight.

The project files include both a mixed and an unmixed version of a commercial with voice over, dialogue, sound effects and music so that you can practice.

Some of the topics discussed in the course are Elastic Wave Retiming, Zero Crossing, Audio Transients, LFE channels, and working with Flexbus. You will also get a deeper understanding of 5.1 surround mixing and a look at immersive mixing.

The footage and assets used in this course are available for download.

Hi, Kevin. Very nice course. I enjoyed it very much. I ran into one problem. After I applied paning automation, I coudn’t delete it through Fairlight-Automation-Erase. I could delete through range tool, but it’s cumbersome. 
I’m using davicni resolve 17.3.1, mac os Big Sur.

Thank you for this thorough course, easy to follow as always! 

I got two questions that I believe haven't been answered.

1) When creating multiple busses, how do I decide which one I'm monitoring. In L14 you send the Dialogue Bus to the Main bus but at what point in time have you categorized it as the main Bus? Is there an option or does it go chronologically down the list?

2) When creating a stereo and 5.1 Bus and I start panning individual tracks in the 5.1 space, how does that translate to stereo? Will it compress automatically, i.e. L and L s will just translate to L and ignore that separation?

Thanks for taking a dive into Fairlight, it's much more powerful than people give it credit for. It's been exciting to watch it develop over the past few years into a serious DAW.  Audio in general doesn't get the love it deserves considering how important it is. I'd love to see more audio centered lessons here; more advanced sound design working in AUX buses, dialogue editing , etc. Keep up the great content!
