Im having trouble importing the Practice footage and supplied .dp files into DR16. Anyone else having issues?  Would love to know how you resolved them.

Thanks

I just tried an import with DR16.1 Studio. No problem bringing in the PNG files. (If you are opening a project and the files are missing, you have to use Relink Selected Clip or Replace Selected Clip).

Yes, you can track with the Tracker and then apply the tracking data to a Paint node or a Transform node connected to the Paint node. Sometimes, I just find manual tracking faster, so it's good to have both options.

Hi Lee,

First of all Hope you're fine in such a complicated period.

I'm digging deeper into both Nuke and Fusion and now achieve some interesting results thanks to your lessons.

But I still encounter many issues when trying to connect tracking data, as you already said before.

Right now I was trying to connect tracking data to a paint node, used to clone a blemish, and encountered this usual and buggy shift when using tracker unsteady position...

I managed to find a solution modifying center with an XY Path and then, in the modifier, connecting Center to Tracker Unsteady position...

Although quite complicated, this workflow seems, at least, logical, and works on my example...

Do you think that can be a relevant option to get rid of this buggy shift when connecting tracking data ?

Thanks a lot for your answer,

Best

Julien

Ps: Was just checking, this seems to work when tracking a Paint Node, but when using an ellipse or any other shape, your solution of an intermediate Transform Node seems more efficient... Endless issue maybe...

@ Lesson 5, is there a way to work on the Paint Tools and Track them using a Planar tracker instead of adding a matte paint from Photoshop?

You can make a Paint tool use tracking data. For example, connect a Paint tool to a Transform tool, then connect the Transform's Center XY to the tracking data of choice.

Hello, thank you for the reply. I really appreciate it. I am aware of the tracker tools and connecting its path via transform. What I mean though is using the planar tracker since it can gather more data points available and then linked that to the paint tools. Is that possible?

At Lesson 8 and Lesson 6,  How is this different compared to the mid tone detail at the Color Page?

Both approaches strive for the same thing - to soften or sharpen detail within a particular color range, That said, frequency separation tools or networks in Fusion  will give you greater and finer control over the result. With frequency separation, you can be more particular about what size details you are affecting, from very tiny pores to larger things such as freckles or wrinkles.

Ah, right. You should be able to connect a Paint tool to a PlanarTransform tool and get the distortion.
