Antonín Jirát February 8, 2021 Share February 8, 2021 Hi, I am looking for monitor for colour grading for my home studio, my budget is small.... aprox. 1 0000 - 2000 $ Does it make sense to buy Lilliput BM230-4K? Price is realy low... hh I am considering to buy Eizo ColorEdge CG279X, or similar Eizo. But I am still wondering if this Lilliput is ok. Than I can save some money for other gadgets:) many thanks for any advise
Chris Hackett February 28, 2021 Share February 28, 2021 A little late to reply, but my guess is that the lilliput is not worth it. You could make an Eizo work, but you need to limit the gamma/color space with monitor calibration or a LUT box (unless it has a rec709 preset). Imo, your first grading monitor should be a flanders. They’re affordable, work incredibly well, and FSI will calibrate your monitor for free for life. See if you can find one used.
Antonín Jirát March 1, 2021 Author Share March 1, 2021 Hi Chris, I will look after it. And, by the way, please, do you have some particular model in your mind? Many thanks!
Chris Hackett March 1, 2021 Share March 1, 2021 It’s been a while since I’ve looked at their lineup. Head over to the lift gamma gain forums, they will have more info on each model. But I think anyone will work for you.
