Rinaldi Ambiroa August 14, 2021 Share August 14, 2021 Brand new to the forum and to Scratch. On the free trial and started with that Introduction tutorial series by Kevin. My main tool is Resolve, so the UI is a bit of a challenge, a nice one though, but somehow I keep feeling that I'm missing half of it, but not sure which half 😉 Anyway, the questions so far: 1. According to my hotkeys, when I'm in the Edit and Color tabs, hitting the Home key or clicking on the actual button, will show my footage as a fit in the available space. Mine however will go full black. Is this a bug? The other buttons work as advertised though, so 1:1 will show me the footage in source res, etc. 2. None of my different footages are grainy or super contrasted, yet regardless of what footage I import, it shows it grainy/jagged. Or maybe a better description would be lowres? I have no clue how to describe it, as in Resolve the default quality is 100% and it looks smooth/great. Where can I change the quality of how the footage is displayed? Or is there something else? 3. In the color tab, is there a way to play the clip and have it looped? Let's start with these three haha, I'm sure I have many more along the way. Cheers all.
Mazze August 25, 2021 Share August 25, 2021 Hi Rinaldi, on 1) Not sure - it seems to work fine here. What resolution is your footage, what resolution is your timeline / main output node and which other tools (like e.g. scopes) do you have opened, if any? on 2) Note that the scaling in the viewport is not a high quality algorithm. Check the footage on a reference screen or display it 1:1 to judge edges and such. SCRATCH does not make things look nice without being asked - it rather shows what's actually there. on 3) To the left of the playback controls is a button to set playback to once/loop/bounce. Shift + Enter does that as well. Control-clicking that button (or using Ctrl + up/down arrow keys) changes playback speed. Hit "R" (or the Range button to the right of the playback controls) to set the playback range to the current clip.  Cheers, Mazze
